Let’s start this Lucky Cat review shall we?
Visited Gordon Ramsay’s new restaurant today for the first time to check out the vibe and more importantly, the food. I sadly couldn’t go to their opening launch back in April (I believe) but better late than never! Lucky Cat replaced maze that shut in February- shame that I never got to visit, although I have been to maze grill just next door. At first, you’ll probably expect Chinese food with all the lucky cats pretty much everywhere, even up to the bathrooms. However, there’s a lot of Japanese dishes/ elements in the menu which confused me a little.
The interior is stunning, the perspective of this pic covers the best area for short/long lunches with tables spaced out far enough to not feel your space invaded by your neighbours.
Service was impeccable, polite staff who were always happy to explain, recommend and top up your drinks when needed- an elevated type of service minus the artifice which I appreciate.
Food was lovely and suited the vibe I was going for- sectional reviews to come soon! Lucky Cat could afford to be more adventurous, however I don’t feel that they’re trying for a star? Our menu came with a pot of tea that they forgot to serve, although we also forgot that we were meant to receive this so no big deal! I was curious to see what brand they serve though as I’m a big fan of Jing.
The lovely staff also showed us where evening dining would take place, accommodating groups and tactically placing them in corners and by the wall on some beautiful seating. We were shown the three private dining rooms they have as well, which will come in handy in the future! 🥰
