Healthy Ingredients = Healthy Dog
I cook for my dog because I know commercial pet food is void of any nutrition - and I care about the health of my pet. I feel most comfortable controlling what my pet consumes. Cost isn’t an issue having a small breed, however you still may find preparing your pet’s food to be more economical than shelved dog food. I believe cooking with nutrient dense whole foods will promote a healthy vibrant pet and curb veterinarian bills in the future. Human grade food isn’t just for humans. It’s smart - and in my opinion it’s responsible — and the only way to give your pet high quality nutrition. To be frank, I feel bloody good about it.
I’ve always been concerned with quality. Generally speaking It’s always how I’ve lived my life.
Commercial pet food is loosely regulated. There aren’t agencies that monitor what pet food manufacturers put in their products. This should make you feel uncomfortable. This isn’t good enough in my opinion.
Drawbacks to feeding homemade: *You’ll need to find a supportive veterinarian
*Commitment to preparing your pets food
*Making sure the meal is balanced *Making sure it caters to your pet’s age/health/weight/medical needs
Most commercial pet foods contain: *chemicals
*artificial preservatives ie. BHT, and BHA which have been shown to cause cancer
*artificial colours *artificial flavour enhancers
*dead animals *diseased dead animals
This is garbage. It’s processed. It’s toxic. It’s nutritionally empty and riddled with disease causing ingredients.
